Rattling Chains

Last year was a big learning curve for me and my daughter. We ventured into the entertainment industry and went for a wild ride. The nutshell version is a birthday present blew up in mom’s face. *wink* What started out as a harmless talent scout audition turned into a year of acting classes, professional photo shoots, auditions and a trip to New York City. And what started out as supportive mother turned into school staff member, trip chauffeur, and digital photo specialist.

It was quite the learning experience for us both. My daughter learned that she does have a knack for acting and look that gets agents’ attention. Mom learned a lot more. Who knows what the future holds, but the past has some good friendships because of it.

Today I sent out a few e-mails to some of the moms and the director that got her involved in the convention. I’ve already heard back from some of the moms and it’s fun to hear what they’re doing. I’ll keep you posted if I hear back from anyone else. I know the day I contact anyone at her acting school is the day I open the can of worms back up so for now I’m hiding under a rock on that one.

  1. I heard back from the director who got us involved. She’s a really nice lady and I was happy to hear back from her. It’s nice to know when an e-mail address still works too!
